Responsibilities

Select and size control valves, sensors, and instrumentation for HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, and mechanical process systems
Review and interpret mechanical, plumbing, and process drawings (P&IDs, layouts, schematics) to properly size and specify flow, pressure, and temperature instrumentation
Initiate and maintain instrument datasheets, calibrated ranges, wiring terminations, and instrument indexes using SPI (InTools) or similar controls-based tools
Develop and maintain controls and instrumentation documentation, including P&IDs, control schematics, panel layouts, and installation drawings
Configure and support industrial control networks, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and serial communications (e.g., Modbus)
Support the design of reliable, scalable control system architectures for plant-wide mechanical and HVAC systems
Prepare RFQ packages and perform technical bid evaluations for instrumentation and controls equipment
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal engineering teams to validate system designs and ensure adherence to quality and documentation standards
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, system outages, and operational troubleshooting of HVAC and utility systems

Required

Hands-on experience with HVAC and mechanical utility systems, including chilled water and/or compressed air
Proven experience with control valve sizing and creation of instrumentation datasheets
Strong ability to interpret mechanical, plumbing, and process drawings to correctly size and select instrumentation
Experience using SPI (InTools) to manage instrument lists, wiring terminations, and calibration ranges
Familiarity with industrial control networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, serial communications such as Modbus)
Working knowledge of PLC platforms including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Beckhoff
Solid understanding of ANSI standards, HVAC controls, and instrumentation best practices
Experience specifying sensors, instrumentation, wiring, PLC hardware, remote I/O, and control panels
Ability to manage multiple scopes while maintaining technical accuracy and documentation quality
