Facilities Laborer (Evening Shift)

Hunt Midwest is a Kansas City-based real estate development company dedicated to creating communities and opportunities. The Facilities Laborer will assist team members with various tasks related to operating the World’s Largest Underground Business Complex, supporting maintenance and operational needs across different trades.

Responsibilities

Under supervision from the Manager of Facilities and under direction of the designated leadman, performs duties as assigned to support the needs of the SubTropolis Facilities department
Performs all assigned tasks supporting assignments and daily/weekly reoccurring work routines in an organized, efficient manner. All team members share all duties as needed
Possesses basic building trades knowledge
Operate larger equipment in accordance to the needs of industrial property management (sweepers, scrubbers, power equipment, power tools, etc.)
General property management and maintenance functions (waste removal, recycling, exterior maintenance, snow removal, contractor and vendor interaction, assembling material orders, etc.)
Take direction from leadmen in relation to more specialized tasks (e.g. HVAC, plumbing, electrical duties)
Participates as needed with the rest of the team in underground structural (rock) work orders as well as mine development duties. Overtime is not guaranteed but frequently available
Ability to represent the Company professionally, at all times, regarding grooming, appearance and verbal skills. Possesses a can-do, hard-working self-starting attitude
Possesses fundamental maintenance-related skills, is a fast learner, and can follow verbal and written directions
Prioritizes work in an appropriate manner for the needs of each particular shift
Comfortable working in a very large commercial and industrial underground business environment
Duties are not limited to those described above. Others may be assigned by leadmen

Required

High School Diploma
Valid Driver's License
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent time management
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing situations calmly and efficiently
Ability to pass a physical, background check and drug screen
Understanding of the basics of facilities maintenance, or has a willingness to learn and approaches coaching and instruction with a welcoming, helpful attitude
Willingness to learn skills they may not already possess
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with tenants, staff, contractors and other employees
Always puts safety first. Has a fast work pace but is constantly aware of his or her surroundings and works smartly and safely
Ability to work long periods independently, but as part of a distributed team
Embraces new methods, processes and technology. Daily learning opportunities are important to this applicant
A prior work history is required but we will train the right applicant who has a positive outlook, helpful attitude, and desires to learn and grow with the company
Ability to carry out both verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively via Microsoft Outlook (email) with Leadmen, management and other team members on the same and separate shifts
