Responsibilities

Provide engineered lift drawings showing rigging/lifting components, equipment positions, and clearances
Perform lift analysis and rigging design for daily operations
Support and mentor junior staff with technical reviews
Provide guidance to field and estimating departments for handling, lifting, and installing equipment
Determine proper lift equipment based on various factors
Apply innovative techniques for specialized rigging challenges
Survey construction sites to identify potential interferences and hazards
Review rigging aspects of jobs with the estimating department
Prepare drawings and explanations for project methods for bid proposals
Assist in preparing specifications and soliciting quotations for rigging-related needs
Develop preliminary lifting/construction plans for proposals
Travel to field construction sites as needed and provide oversight for heavy lift operations
Ensure client facilities can withstand temporary forces during lifting operations
Review and approve subcontracted lifting and rigging plans
Participate in client and internal meetings to communicate design activities

Required

B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering concentration
PE license
Experience in rigging, below-the-hook, temporary supports design, and analysis
Background in construction and procurement. 7-10 years of experience in rigging structural design and analysis
Experience in design and analysis of falsework, bolted connections, welded connections, shoring, and structural stability
Experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings
Knowledge of RISA 3D, Mathcad, MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D, and Revit
Experience preparing or evaluating critical lifting and heavy transport plans with industry software
Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AISC, ASCE codes and their application
Experience with RISA 3D or SolidWorks Simulation FEA (or equivalent)
Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
