Director of Finance
ETI Tech, LLC is a leading aerospace and defense solutions provider headquartered in Kettering, Ohio. The Director of Finance will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with government contracting and regulatory requirements while partnering with executive leadership to drive financial strategy and support growth across programs.
Responsibilities
Serve as the principal financial advisor to the President, VP/GM, and executive leadership
Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans
Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessments for government and commercial programs
Establish and monitor KPIs related to revenue, margins, indirect rates, and contract performance
Lead and develop accounting and finance staff in a lean environment
Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting, and automation
Ensure ERP and financial systems support government compliant cost tracking
Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, month-end, and year-end close
Ownership of the standard cost framework for manufactured products, monitoring variances, and providing clear analysis and recommendations to drive cost control and margin improvement
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships
Prepare and present monthly financial reporting package to leadership
Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCAA, and CAS (as applicable)
Develop, maintain, and monitor indirect rate structures (overhead, G&A, fringe)
Support government pricing, proposals, cost volume development, and rate submissions
Oversee job costing, WIP, and cost segregation to meet government audit requirements
Serve as primary point of contact for DCAA audits and government financial inquiries
Ensure accurate timekeeping, labor charging, and internal controls in support of government contracts
Oversee cost accounting, margin analysis, and profitability tracking by program
Support quoting, pricing, and contract negotiations for government and commercial customers
Monitor labor efficiency, material usage, scrap, and overhead absorption
Ensure financial processes support AS9100, ITAR, and customer audit requirements
Manage external audits, tax filings, and coordination with CPA firms
Maintain strong internal controls and segregation of duties
Oversee insurance programs, bonding, and risk mitigation strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting required
10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience including cost accounting
5+ years in a leadership role
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Experience working with U.S. government contracts and understanding federal regulations (like FAR and DFARS), cost accounting standards (CAS) and experience with CAS-covered or CAS-exempt contractors, and familiarity with export controls (ITAR), quality systems (AS9100), and government cost proposals
Preferred
CPA or MBA preferred but not required
ERP implementation experience is a plus
Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus
Experience in the aerospace or defense industry is a plus but not required
