Responsibilities

Serve as the first and primary contact for all existing and potential customers / influencers
Identify customer needs and adapt/customize product offering as required to fulfill those needs. Determine which customers require more individualized attention
Provide support to the outside sales team in a backup capacity including data entry in CRM maintaining and entering customer information such as regulatory & sample projects and contact & customer records
Troubleshoot customer concerns and work with other departments within the company such as quality, manufacturing and procurement to address and resolve concerns. Initiate investigations as needed into material customer issues with quality and/or R&D and relay investigation results back to client in a positive and professional manner that best preserves the business relationship
Develop and maintain knowledge of company product offerings. Anticipate competitive products or services and distinguish them from competitor’s products or services. Research as needed into competitive products and market conditions and relay any competitive information gained in the field to the greater sales organization. Work with quality, manufacturing and R&D to formulate new products based upon customer inputs
Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales including but not limited to, following up for collection of payment, and coordinating shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise
Utilize company sales tools to generate sales forecasts for respective territory and activity and call reports
Travel and participate in select company sales meetings, various trade shows and travel directly related to customer development and product sales as required
Follow up in a timely manner to assigned leads / customer inquiries

Required

Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of internal sales experience or similar
Intermediate MS Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Position is remote with light/moderate overnight travel by land and/or air as required. Estimated at ~10%
