Litigation Attorney (White Collar Criminal Defense)
Morae is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Litigation Attorney to join our client's legal team. This position focuses on handling white-collar criminal investigations and criminal defense matters, requiring a proven track record in defending clients in high-profile, complex criminal cases.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage white-collar criminal investigations from inception to conclusion, including pretrial, trial, and post-trial stages
Defend clients in criminal defense cases related to fraud, financial crimes, bribery, corruption, insider trading, money laundering, and other white-collar criminal offenses
Collaborate with internal and external teams to gather, analyze, and present evidence in support of case strategies
Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, motions, and briefs, and prepare case strategies
Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations as necessary
Advise clients on the legal implications of criminal investigations and provide strategic counsel regarding case developments
Develop strong working relationships with clients, investigators, and experts to ensure a cohesive defense strategy
Stay updated on changes in criminal law, particularly white-collar crime statutes, regulations, and defense strategies
Qualification
Required
5+ years of proven experience in litigation with a focus on white-collar criminal defense and criminal investigations
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the state bar
Strong understanding of federal and state criminal law, with a focus on white-collar criminal offenses
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively
Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple cases simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred
Experience handling high-profile, complex white-collar criminal cases
Familiarity with the latest legal technologies and tools used in litigation
Proficiency in legal research and case management software
Experience working with government agencies such as the SEC, DOJ, and regulatory bodies
Multilingual abilities (preferred but not required)
