The Summer Law Clerk will support the Law Department by performing legal research and analysis on various legal topics while gaining an understanding of the railroad industry.

Responsibilities
Perform legal research and analysis on a broad range of legal topics as issues arise. Such topics may include: employment law, environmental law, immigration law, corporate secretary responsibilities, generative AI, litigation issues, workers compensation issues, regulatory matters, contracts law, and government affairs. Provide either a detailed legal memorandum, PowerPoint presentation, or a short email or verbal analysis, as warranted
Participate in meetings with clients, vendors and the Law Department. Provide insight to Law Department and assist in developing legal strategies for the business
Qualification
Required
2L in Law School preferred
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) systems
Preferred
Ability to identify potential issues and recommend solutions in a timely and effective manner
Attention to detail
Energetic self-starter with an eagerness to learn
Strong organization, time management, and planning skills
Aptitude for problem solving, critical thinking, and analytics
Team player with a positive attitude
