Marine & Stationary - Systems Engineer

The Marine & Stationary - Systems Engineer is responsible for the development of New Product Introduction (NPI) for marine and stationary engine controllers, overseeing the product's journey from concept to implementation and validation.

Responsibilities

Candidate must be capable of executing and/or facilitating all phases of product development, including, but not limited to:
Concept Development
Requirements Development
Requirements Traceability
Mechanical Packaging
Electrical Packaging
Compliance to IACS Marine Classification Society requirements
Verification/Validation plans
Functional implementation of requirements into controls/software
Review of implementation
ENV/EMC Testing
Validation and testing of the product
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field
Minimum 10 years professional experience related to the design, validation, application or field service of engine controls systems
Demonstrated understanding related to typical design and validation processes such as FMEA and tollgate-style review with a focus in engine systems and new concept development
Previous experience working with engine systems with detailed understanding of system interactions
Knowledge of DOORS
Strong skills in controls requirements development and implementation
Confident ability to present technical details to an audience of peers, expert reviewers, and executive leadership
Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced, team-based environment and accommodate shifting priorities
Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
Desire to mentor, motivate, and contribute to the technical growth of less experienced engineers
Willingness to travel (10%)

Preferred

Desired expertise in medium speed diesel locomotive, marine, and stationary engines
Experience with physics-based analysis tools and techniques
