Senior Associate, Business Development
HighPoint Associates is a management consulting firm based in El Segundo, California, advising on strategy and operational challenges for various clients. The Senior Associate will collaborate with the C-suite and VP of Business Development to drive key strategic initiatives, enhance client relationships, and improve operational excellence within the Business Development team.
Responsibilities
Partner with the VP of Business Development and Partners to proactively identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities aligned with firm priorities and target markets
Support Partners in deepening and expanding existing client relationships to drive repeat engagements, ensure long-term satisfaction, and help grow their book of business
Conduct market and company research that synthesizes key insights on trends and other market/company dynamics to prepare Partners for pitch meetings and guide HPA’s overall go‑to‑market strategy
Contribute to the development of proposals, pitch materials, and client‑facing materials that effectively showcase HPA’s expertise and commercial value
Collaborate with the Talent team to grow our library of company IP, including creating compelling case studies that highlight project outcomes and HPA’s breadth and capabilities
Design and manage strategic outreach campaigns that generate qualified leads, measure performance, and continuously optimize based on data‑driven learnings
Lead Associates in building prospect lists, drafting e-mail messaging, and contributing to longer-form content (e.g., articles), ensuring campaigns target the right audiences with relevant content
Leverage a diverse range of channels—including email, LinkedIn, and other digital touchpoints—to elevate firm visibility, nurture relationships, and maintain consistent outbound momentum
Mentor first‑year Associates by providing tactical coaching and strategic guidance to help them navigate analytical, research, and client‑facing workstreams
Deliver constructive feedback on Associate work products, ensuring deliverables meet professional standards and align with business development objectives
Support the onboarding and professional growth of new Associates to strengthen team capabilities and long‑term excellence
Partner cross‑functionally with the Operations team to improve Salesforce workflows, enhance data accuracy, and ensure pipeline visibility across the Business Development team
Identify and implement process improvements that streamline team efficiency, strengthen coordination, and remove barriers to execution
Lead or contribute to strategic internal initiatives that extend beyond core responsibilities, advancing business priorities while leveraging individual experience and strengths
Qualification
Required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
Bachelor's degree from a leading four-year university (all majors are welcome)
2-3 years of relevant professional experience (prior roles in business development, sales, marketing, strategy, or consulting preferred)
Ability to work in our El Segundo office 3 days/week (hybrid model) within Los Angeles, California
Preferred
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint (GenAI proficiency a plus)
