Responsibilities

Must be able to complete multi-sketches with multi-levels and/or roof sketches with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Create accurate scopes with minimal over- or under-scoping, demonstrating precision and strong analytical judgment
Create accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches in Xactimate Sketch, following structured and repeatable processes
Must have working knowledge of applicable building codes and the ability to quickly learn and apply new requirements
Create and adhere to acceptable budgets and proactively identify, communicate, and address overages as they arise
Required to use the Sasser naming convention for estimates, revised estimates, proposals, change orders, etc., demonstrating a love for structure and consistency
Maintain a construction schedule and work closely with trades and management to ensure work is completed on time; identify issues early and present organized, solution-driven recommendations when additional resources are needed
Demonstrate proficiency with source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents, and deodorization techniques
Proficient with investigative demolition, controlled demolition, decontamination structure cleaning, and deodorization services
Participate in continued training with Sasser — Basic Xactimate training as part of preparation for passing Estimator Level 2 or 3 User Certification tests, dependent on Estimator role; demonstrates ability as a quick learner
Independently manages own work with strong time management and process discipline
Maintain vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and keep vehicles in a clean, serviceable condition
Complete all accident, injury, and incident reporting forms accurately and in a timely manner
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a methodical and detail-focused approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fast responder to internal and external requests
Participate in continuing education to advance career in payroll and ensure compliance with the most up-to-date regulations
Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards
Must expand and maintain local area clientele in position to refer losses. Clientele is primarily insurance adjusters, commercial and healthcare property managers, but may also include community business owners, schools, and municipalities. General Estimator book of business is approximately $3-$5M
Serve as primary contact with owners, adjusters, and consultants, providing organized, accurate, and timely communication
Must be able to identify and accurately scope and estimate unique site-specific conditions and requirements with precision
Scope development, negotiation, and agreements with customers
Accurate estimates of all trades using line items in the estimating programs, demonstrating strong process management
Coordinate after-hours emergency services as directed, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and vandalism
Consistently identify potential site hazards (asbestos, lead paint, mold, etc.) with a keen eye for detail
Must conduct oneself professionally and with courtesy at all times; be proactive in conveying information and immediately responsive to requests for information
Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices; ability to work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
Strong attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information

3+ years' experience in Construction or Restoration Estimating
Residential estimating experience in excess of $50,000 and Commercial estimating experience in excess of $100,000
Successful completion of Advanced Xactimate training class in preparation for Estimating platform Level 3 User Certification test with a score of 90%
National rate and material invoicing experience
English literacy and fluency
Understanding of MSDS data sheets and applicability to jobs
Extensive customer service experience
Advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience with Xactimate
Professional demeanor and appearance, excellent telephone skills
Ability to work well with others, maintain professional interactions with co-workers and vendors
Frequent lifting over 50 lbs unassisted
Sitting for extended periods of time
Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks
Ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary
