Start in 2026 SummerBiogen’s Research Triangle Park site is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support large scale manufacturing purification operations. In this role, the intern will work closely with manufacturing engineers and cross-functional teams to improve process reliability and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a cGMP biopharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities
Support process improvement projects by gathering data and organizing project tasks
Assist engineers with basic equipment troubleshooting and process optimization
Help with validation activities by collecting data, organizing documentation, and ensuring requirements are met
Update dashboards and visuals to track progress on key improvement initiatives
Support equipment/capital improvement projects, coordinating technical documentation and engineering drawings, equipment troubleshooting
Observe process, identify areas of improvement, develop project scope, achieve buy-in from stakeholders and implement change
Generate process monitoring trends to identify process trends and ensure the process is operating in a state of control
Qualification
Required
Legal authorization to work in the U.S
At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship
Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies prior to scheduled start date
Candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering disciplines
Proficient in MS office programs & Technical Writing
Self-Starter with good communication skills and willingness to learn new skills
Attention to detail is important for troubleshooting and document review
