Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Assign engineering resources to support production, new product development, and customer programs
Establish engineering priorities aligned with business objectives
Oversee design, development, and validation of piston ring products for aerospace and automotive applications
Ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability requirements
Support process development and optimization for grinding, lapping, coating, heat treat, and finishing operations
Partner with operations to resolve production issues, reduce scrap and rework, and improve throughput
Drive process capability improvements through data analysis and root cause problem-solving
Support implementation and maintenance of standard work, process controls, and engineering documentation
Ensure engineering activities comply with AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO, and customer-specific requirements
Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), FMEAs, control plans, and validation activities
Participate in internal and external audits as needed
Review customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to ensure alignment with internal capabilities
Support technical presentations, design reviews, and customer visits
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, delivery, and safety
Drive adoption of best practices in manufacturing engineering, automation, and advanced materials
Identify opportunities for innovation in product design and manufacturing processes

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or related field)
7+ years of engineering experience in a precision manufacturing environment
3+ years of engineering leadership or management experience
Strong understanding of machining, grinding, lapping, heat treat, and surface finishing processes
Experience working in aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing environments
Knowledge of quality systems (AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO)
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
