Purchasing Specialist

CRH is a leading manufacturer of aggregate and HMA products, and they are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support the operations side of their organization. The role involves generating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining supplier records while fostering an inclusive culture for growth and development.

Responsibilities

Generate and submit purchase orders
Track orders to ensure on-time delivery
Receipt and process receiving documents
Resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies
Maintain accurate supplier records
Provide weekly open purchase order reports to all each line of business (LOB); schedule and lead meetings to facilitate timely close outs
Receive and disperse materials to various LOB on the Lunenburg site
Run errands for parts and supplies on an as-needed basis
Organize training materials, maintain safety records, and assist with internal safety audits
Perform data entry, update records, and manage internal communications (memos, emails)
Maintain office supplies and ensure a clean, organized workspace
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for various teams
Participate in weekly training to learn scale operator duties, providing coverage during absences
Coordinate with team members to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
Assist in organizing company events, meetings, and team activities
Perform additional tasks as assigned, to support overall office efficiency

Required

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly
Independent problem-solving and sound decision-making abilities

Prior experience in an administrative or office support role
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently
