Accounting Intern

The Accounting Intern will support the Finance team with financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives that drive informed business decisions.

Responsibilities
Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work
You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves
You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and community service /volunteer initiatives

Finally, our rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities
Reconcile GR / IR functions, pareto major variances, and recommend solutions for automation
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports including general ledger accounting functions (posting entries, variance analysis…)
Support data analysis for budgeting and cost control initiatives (i.e., cost out)
Assist with data validation, reconciliations, and financial system updates (Blackline / SAP)
Prepare presentations summarizing financial data and insights for leadership primarily around GR / IR and best practices to ensure automatic clearing
Support continuous improvement efforts for finance processes and reporting
Improve spreadsheet automation in streamline month ends close processes to reduce time spent
Work closely with engineering on Fixed Asset audit and help prepare for internal controls audit
Collaborate with team members on ad hoc financial analysis and projects
Perform other finance-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
