Director of Electrical Engineering - MEP
HC Solutions Group is partnering with an established and growing MEP consulting engineering firm in Boston, MA to identify a Director of Electrical Engineering. This role involves overseeing the electrical discipline across multiple project types, providing strategic and technical leadership, and mentoring engineering staff while collaborating with firm leadership and clients.

Responsibilities
Lead the electrical engineering discipline for the firm, including design quality, standards, and technical oversight
Serve as Engineer of Record and review, stamp, and seal electrical construction documents
Oversee electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems
Manage and mentor electrical engineers and designers, supporting professional development and licensure
Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection leadership to deliver integrated MEP solutions
Participate in project planning, staffing, scheduling, and budgeting
Support business development efforts, client relationships, and proposal development
Interface directly with owners, architects, contractors, and AHJs
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Active Professional Engineer license required
10+ years of electrical engineering experience within an MEP consulting firm
Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes, and applicable local and national standards
Experience across complex building projects such as healthcare, higher education, life sciences, or commercial facilities
Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and interface with clients at a senior level
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Preferred
Prior experience in a leadership, management, or department head role preferred
