Adient is a leading company in the automotive seating industry, and they are seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to learn about the chemistry of flexible-molded polyurethane foam. The intern will perform laboratory testing, communicate with management, and provide updates on their progress throughout the internship.

Responsibilities

Communicate with manager to understand goals of internship project

Work with manager to review current laboratory skill level, and develop further skills as necessary for completion of internship project

Review and utilize standard operating procedures to operate and maintain capable performance of laboratory manufacturing equipment

Conduct laboratory evaluations as required including viscosity, water content, refractive index, reactivity profile, test block molding

Interact with supporting and adjacent working groups

Evaluate laboratory data and construct reports to summarize results

Performs special tasks as assigned

Required

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering

Available to work up to 40 hours per week

Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0

Solid analytical skills and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and the development team

Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail, organization skills and follow-up

Proficient in MS Office

Preferred

Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus
