This role involves working cross-functionally to ensure products meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for electronic products (enclosures, chassis, thermal solutions, brackets, connectors, etc.)
Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications using CAD tools
Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and mechanical simulations (thermal, structural, vibration)
Support NPI (New Product Introduction) from prototype through ramp to mass production
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to ensure DFM, DFA, and DFx compliance
Support tooling design (injection molds, die casting, sheet metal, CNC) and review supplier tooling proposals
Resolve manufacturing issues, yield losses, and mechanical defects during pilot and production runs
Define and execute mechanical validation plans (shock, vibration, thermal cycling, reliability)
Analyze test results and implement corrective actions
Support compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Work with global suppliers and contract manufacturers to develop and qualify mechanical parts
Lead technical discussions with vendors on materials, processes, and cost optimization
Interface with electrical, thermal, quality, supply chain, and program management teams
Drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and product lifecycle support activities
Manage ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and documentation updates
Support field issues and root cause analysis (8D, FMEA)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3+ years of experience in mechanical product engineering within electronics manufacturing (experience level can be adjusted)
Strong experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, machining
Experience supporting products in mass production environments
Understanding of DFM/DFA principles
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams
Preferred
Experience in high-tech electronics, networking equipment, servers, IoT, or consumer electronics
Knowledge of thermal management for electronic systems
Experience working with contract manufacturers (EMS/ODM)
Familiarity with reliability testing standards (IEC, JEDEC, etc.)
Hands-on experience with prototype builds and factory support
Experience with PLM systems
