Responsibilities
Performs a variety of administrative tasks using an automated system which involves: assigning, maintaining, monitoring, or updating work status and inventory records; ordering research; acknowledging correspondence; maintaining, updating and initiating personnel records; timekeeping; and performing other support activity
Identifies and reviews Forms W-2 attached to Forms 1040EZ and 1040PC for conditions meeting Criminal Investigation criteria and code the returns appropriately
Conducts searches and other follow-up action on delayed shipments where acknowledged transmittals are not received timely
Transcribes and/or key verifies a wide variety of taxpayer prepared tax returns, related schedules, and/or documents
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
Undergo a review of conduct and an income tax verification
This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into 'Continuous Vetting.'
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment
Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: GENERAL EXPERIENCE GS-04: To qualify at this grade level you must have: One (1) year or twelve (12 months) of general experience
EDUCATION: Two (2) years of education above the high school level
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5 Level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service
EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: A Bachelor's degree or four years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
