Responsibilities
Write and maintain significant production code while architecting and delivering major backend, infrastructure, and data pipeline components
Own end-to-end technical outcomes across backend services, DevOps, testing, integrations, and supporting frontend systems as needed
Partner closely with CTO and CPO to shape technical strategy, priorities, and execution plans
Tackle complex and ambiguous technical challenges by understanding existing systems and defining what should be built
Assess existing systems, clarify evolving requirements, and design solutions for complex, ambiguous technical problems
Design and operate scalable, reliable systems using cloud-native infrastructure and data pipeline
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, data, and business teams to align solutions with user and organizational needs
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience balancing significant hands-on development with technical leadership, contributing high-quality production code while coordinating effectively across teams
Demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing software products with increasing technical ownership in complex, evolving environments
Proven ability to design, implement, and scale distributed systems while navigating ambiguity and changing requirements
Strong coding skills with the ability to quickly understand, improve, and extend existing codebases across backend and frontend systems
Deep understanding of full-stack architectures, including how services, data pipelines, infrastructure, and integrations work together
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, cloud-native architectures, containerized applications, relational databases, and core infrastructure components including CDNs
Comfort making thoughtful tradeoffs around technical debt, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability while owning outcomes end to end
Effective communicator and collaborator with experience mentoring engineers, influencing technical decisions, partnering with senior leadership, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity across workflows
Preferred
Preferred experience with ECS, Lambda, IaC (Terraform) and backend development with Node.js, Python or PHP
