Larimer County is seeking a Junior Developer to join their Information Technology Department for a limited-term position supporting a high-visibility development project. This role involves assisting in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software applications while working collaboratively with experienced developers.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the development and maintenance of software applications by writing clean, reliable code under the guidance of senior team members
Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving bugs by testing and implementing fixes to improve system performance and reliability
Supporting application enhancements and completing smaller development tasks while contributing to larger, team-based projects
Learning and applying established coding standards, best practices, and procedures, and continuously improving skills through feedback and mentorship
Creating and maintaining clear, accurate documentation, including user guides, code comments, and system standards

Required

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, in software development is required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
Knowledge of C# and web application development, with exposure to Blazor or similar modern web frameworks and the ability to write, test, and debug basic code
Understanding of standard software development practices, including version control, debugging, and working within a team-based development environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, demonstrating curiosity, persistence, and a structured approach to troubleshooting technical issues
Eagerness to learn and grow, including the ability to apply feedback from mentors and continuously build technical and professional skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, supporting shared development efforts and communicating clearly with peers and stakeholders
Attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring code, documentation, and deliverables meet established standards and support long-term maintainability
