Kleinfelder Inc is seeking a Highway Civil Engineer to join their Design team in Hunt Valley, MD. The successful candidate will be involved in the design of highway and urban roadway projects, working collaboratively with various civil groups and markets to support the growth of roadway and civil sectors for public and private clients.

Responsibilities

Support Highway/Roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic, calming treatments, urban street roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements
Provide technical expertise on projects from initial conceptual and preliminary engineering through final design and construction
Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals, to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables
Prepare detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that production of specifications, reports and analysis meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements

Qualification

Highway design experienceEngineer-in-Training certificationProfessional Engineer licenseAutoCADCivil 3DMicroStationInroads/OpenRoadsAutoTURNProject delivery experienceCommunication skills

Required

Bachelor's degree from ABET accredited engineering program
3-6 years of design experience in the highway transportation field
Engineer-in-Training certification is required
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN
Experience with project delivery of State Agency Transportation Departments

Preferred

Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of employment is preferred
