As a Backend Engineering Intern, you will assist in building cloud systems for connected EVs, contributing to API development and improving data pipelines while gaining hands-on experience in backend software engineering and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the backend team to assist in building and testing components of our platform
Contribute to API development and write tests for microservices and data processing workflows that support connected EV features
Work with mentors to improve reliability, scalability, and observability of backend systems
Support integration of telemetry and analytics systems that enable insights into fleet performance
Contribute to development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
Participate in code reviews and team discussions to learn best practices in modern backend engineering

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Expected graduation date in 2027
Exposure to programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go through coursework or personal projects
Understanding of web APIs (REST, GraphQL, JRPC, etc.) and data formats such as JSON
Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
Interest in learning cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker). Prior exposure is a plus but not required
Curiosity about IoT systems, data pipelines, and distributed infrastructure
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment
