Murphy USA is seeking an Enterprise Analyst III who will demonstrate competency in business insights, problem solving, communication, and technical skills. The role involves performing complex analysis, developing actionable insights, and working with clients to identify analytical requirements.

Responsibilities

Updates, builds, and maintains business models to meet the needs of the organization

Performs routine and ad hoc reporting using various techniques (statistical analysis, data mining)

Conducts root cause analysis to derive and create KPIs

Demonstrates understanding of advanced analytical tools & techniques

Frames unstructured problems with assistance of senior analyst or management

Performs complex analysis on issues clearly articulating assumptions and underlying issues

Performs data extraction/gathering, reconciling ambiguous data, and executes the hypothesis-driven approach

Develops fact-based and actionable recommendations via dashboards, models and forecast

Provide audit trail on factual assertions

Acts as a special project lead and creates presentations to present to management

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Required

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc

Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to independently perform complex analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining

Ability to synthesize key insights from data and develop actionable insights

Ability to articulate recommendations for current business operations in a simple form

Ability to work directly with clients to identify analytical requirements

Ability to produce ad hoc data and reports

Ability to assist in implementing or developing systems to capture business operation information

Understanding application of analytical tools and techniques

Intermediate Excel skills

MS Office proficiency

Advanced SQL skills

Intermediate PowerBI skills

Proficient in creating reports/maps

RStudio proficiency

Python proficiency

Ability to build models, perform data extraction and scrubbing, and report building capabilities

Understanding of the hypothesis-driven methodology

Understanding of how to frame unstructured problems
