Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the distribution of settlement funds to clients and other involved parties
Review settlement agreements and confirm accurate disbursement amounts based on client agreements
Maintain detailed records of all disbursements and ensure they are properly documented in the firm’s system
Communicate with clients to ensure they understand the disbursement process and provide updates as needed
Collaborate with the settlement team and attorneys to obtain required signatures, releases, and other necessary documentation
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and ethical standards during the disbursement process
Assist with creating and managing disbursement journals and other related records
Troubleshoot any issues related to the distribution of settlement funds
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in a legal or settlement coordination role, particularly within a law firm
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Familiarity with settlement processes, client disbursements, and legal compliance
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes to clients
Proficiency in using legal and accounting software to manage disbursements and records
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
