They are seeking an Assistant Product Developer to support the product development process, ensuring new products are commercialized on-time and within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

Support the product development team with daily tasks: submit prototype orders, maintain trackers, respond to customer service inquiries
Organize and file documentation, create and maintain internal libraries/databases, work on special assignments as needed
Facilitate prototyping and coordinate and track prototype movement requests. Own communication with sample warehouse, organization and storing of samples, and arranging sample reviews. Troubleshoot roadblocks to on-time prototype delivery, ensure samples are properly labeled
Build strong relationships with suppliers and communicate key project deliverables
Create Test Request Forms and facilitate product testing at test labs. Track status of product and transit testing with third-party test labs
Conduct in-depth review of prototypes to ensure products meet or exceed all standards for: build quality, ease of assembly, packaging, comfort, value, etc
Collaborate with Supply Chain/Sourcing and Product Compliance to ensure all regulatory, sustainability, and performance documentation are obtained from the suppliers
Support developers in establishing quality criteria for all new programs and develop Quality Assurance Protocol with Suppliers
Communicate key issues (i.e., schedules, resource constraints, launch plans) in a clear and timely manner to Merchandising and PD leadership
Participate in weekly meetings with cross-functional teams to share progress on new developments and conduct prototype/design reviews

Required

Bachelor's Degree required
1-2 years of experience working in a development-related function (retail furniture industry preferred)
Experience with new product commercialization
Entrepreneurial and driven mindset
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required
Awareness of furniture market landscape
Demonstrate excellent communication skills
An entrepreneurial mindset with an adaptive approach
Willingness to travel globally as needed
Ability to work in our Stamford, CT office
Ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations

Preferred

Experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks, Fusion 360) and Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) preferred
