Partnership Development Intern

Southwire Company, LLC is one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers, seeking to provide valuable experience to students through their College Programs. The Partnership Development Intern will support the development of Southwire’s Electrical Apprenticeship Support & Engagement Program, assist in designing standardized application processes, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance workforce development initiatives.

Responsibilities

Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work
You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves
You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and community service /volunteer initiatives
You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to a world-class program community
Finally, our rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities
Support the development of Southwire’s Electrical Apprenticeship Support & Engagement Program, including defining areas of involvement, organizing resources, and contributing to scalable program workflows and tools
Assist with the design and rollout of a standardized application process for consumable goods and monetary support by gathering requirements, supporting user workflows, and helping document processes
Conduct research and benchmarking on workforce development and apprenticeship best practices, translating insights into practical program recommendations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (training, marketing, product, and field teams) to align initiatives with business needs and contractor experience
Track project progress, maintain documentation, and support basic reporting to ensure initiatives remain organized and on schedule

Required

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Learning & Development, or a related field (minimum 2.5 GPA)
Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Analytical and research capabilities, including the ability to gather data and summarize findings clearly
Proficiency with standard business and collaboration tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Reliable transportation to and from work

Preferred

Interest in workforce development, apprenticeships, education, or the skilled trades
