Senior LevelScienceDocs is expanding their international grant support and is seeking an experienced European Grant Writer to work with innovative companies, researchers, and consortia pursuing EU and UK research funding. The role involves leading or supporting proposal development for major European funding programs and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure proposals meet program goals and compliance requirements.
Writing & Editing
Responsibilities
Lead or support proposal development for major European funding programs, including:
Horizon Europe
EIC Pathfinder / Transition / Accelerator
ERC (where applicable)
UKRI / Innovate UK
Other national and regional European funding schemes
Draft and refine core proposal sections, including:
Excellence / Innovation
Impact
Implementation & Work Packages
Collaborate with startups, SMEs, researchers, and technical leads across engineering, AI, deep tech, and applied sciences
Ensure proposals align with program goals, evaluation criteria, and compliance requirements
Help shape clear, compelling narratives that resonate with European reviewers
Qualification
Required
Proven experience writing or coordinating successful or highly competitive European grant proposals
Familiarity with Horizon Europe structure, TRLs, consortium-based projects, and evaluation scoring
Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into persuasive, structured proposal language
Comfortable working independently and coordinating remotely with international teams
Excellent written English
Preferred
Additional European languages are a plus, but not required
