Market Development Manager-On Premise Wine & Spirits
GALLO is a family-owned company with a legacy in the alcohol beverage industry, seeking a Market Development Manager – On Premise Wine & Spirits. The role focuses on growing brand presence in on-premise accounts through collaboration with distributor partners, executing programs, and utilizing data-driven insights to enhance sales performance.

Responsibilities
Grow the presence and performance of our brands in restaurants, bars, hotels and other on‑premise accounts
Work closely with distributor partners to execute monthly programs
Coach reps and district managers
Close distribution gaps
Strategically prioritize time and resources where they deliver the most impact
Lead training, kickoffs, local activations and crew drives
Coordinate marketing materials with Commerce Marketing
Support digital commercialization and consumer events
Represent GALLO in the community
Manage travel and business expenses responsibly
Support recruiting initiatives as needed
Ensure on‑premise pricing aligns with state brand guidance
Make choices that balance motivating, training and supporting distributor teams based on business rhythms and account potential
Bring curiosity, initiative and ownership to continually improve results
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire
This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving
If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire
Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality
Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions
Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions
Required to be 21 years of age or older
Required to Travel by air and automobile up to 25% during the course of business
Experience demonstrating strong leadership, selling, time management, and public speaking skills
Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred
Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Spirits Development Specialist, Spirits Development Specialist Sr, Business Intelligence Analyst Sr, Market Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, or Account Manager 1
Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of external alcohol sales experience to include on-premise experience
Experience selling or marketing Gallo brands
