USDA ARS Forage Phenology Remote Sensing Fellowship
The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education is offering a research opportunity with the USDA Agricultural Research Service focused on forage phenology using remote sensing tools. The fellow will engage in research aimed at understanding the impacts of long-term weather patterns on agricultural land use and productivity.

Responsibilities
Gain experience in planning and conducting data collection, remote sensing, geospatial modeling, and statistical analysis to characterize forage productivity and phenology trends related to long-term weather patterns and identify impacts and opportunities of agricultural land use transitions for regional production, local economies, and food access
Collaborate closely with food systems modelers, agronomists, GIS specialists, and animal scientists
Collect and combine existing productivity, geospatial, land use, and other economic, and environmental datasets to investigate regional opportunities and trends
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or have received a doctoral degree in one of the relevant fields
Degree must have been received within the past five years, or anticipated to be received by 3/31/2026
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Only
