ACCOUNTANT IV

The Florida Department of Corrections is responsible for managing the state's correctional facilities and services. They are seeking an Accountant IV to ensure responsible management of financial resources, including bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and software maintenance related to the Court Ordered Payment System.

Responsibilities

Bank Reconciliations: Complete weekly bank reconciliations for the Court Ordered Payment System (COPS), including disbursement and depository accounts
QuickBooks Management: Oversee QuickBooks for the Court Ordered Payment System
Report Auditing: Audit and review CDC 107 reports, CDC allocation reports, and both short and long CDC 85-reports
Financial Reporting: Download, save, and print COPS financial reports and bank statements, and review daily positive pay exceptions
Check Processing: Maintain the COPS bank and check registers, generate and approve daily check printing forms, and manage chargeback spreadsheets
Customer Service: Answer the COPS helpline and handle customer service inquiries
Software Maintenance: Maintain the ACOM Systems EZPay Suite check printing software and complete daily bank reconciliations
Year-End Preparation: Assist with preparing year-end financial statements and supporting schedules, manage address change requests, and process digital disbursements

Required

Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
Must possess experience with QuickBooks or other General Ledger Computer Systems, Account Reconciliations, Auditing, Bookkeeping or Banking

Preferred

Must possess experience or knowledge of tools such as FLAIR, MFMP, Outlook, Excel and Word
Must possess knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Must have the ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program
Must have the ability to analyze and interpret accounting data
