Vice President of Strategic Partnerships

Responsibilities
Establish and lead the organization's strategic partnership function, developing a multi-year national strategy focused on significantly expanding the reach, growth, and revenue of TRL's Professional Learning (PL), e-commerce, and other organizational offerings
Cultivate, manage, and secure high-level, strategic partnerships with major school districts, state education agencies, and national educational organizations that will result in significant annual revenue and mission impact
Oversee the strategic implementation and optimization of sales and CRM technologies (e.g., Hubspot) to track, analyze, and manage the full sales pipeline and customer engagement data
Serve as a high-level advocate for TRL's work through strategic engagement at national conferences, thought leadership on social media, and presentations to executive decision-makers
Serve as the lead for TRL offerings, including professional books, decodable books, and educational resources sold on the e-commerce site
Collaborate with other program teams to ensure strategies are fully aligned with TRL’s strategic plan
Develop and execute a go-to-market partnership strategy to expand distribution and adoption of TRL products and services through channels such as conferences and literacy networks
Own the partnership sales cycle end-to-end - from prospecting and discovery through solution design, proposal development, negotiation, and closing
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, communication, education, or related field required
7 or more years of progressive leadership experience in sales, strategic partnerships, business development within the K-12 education or Professional Learning sectors (nonprofit and/or mission-driven environment strongly preferred)
Proven track record of building high-performing sales functions and significantly scaling revenue for education-focused products and services
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
Excellent communication skills and executive presence, with exceptional public presentation ability and the capacity to represent the organization externally while providing expert insights in educational conversations, both formal and informal
Ability to translate strategy into measurable plans and results
Deep knowledge of K-8 literacy pedagogy, the Science of Reading, and best practices for effective instructional change at the district and school level
Experience with the buying and selling cycles and procurement policies of large school districts, state agencies, and educational organizations
Confidence and experience in networking and engaging in strategic conversations with high-level decision-makers (Superintendents, Chief Academic Officers, State Leaders)
Proficient with HubSpot or similar enterprise-level CRM for pipeline management and data analysis
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire a diverse team
Preferred
master's degree (ideally MBA)
