Director of Corporate Development
Comfort Connect is a financial technology and training company serving home services contractors and their customers. The Director of Corporate Development will lead strategic growth initiatives, including sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing corporate development and investment opportunities to strengthen Comfort Connect’s value proposition.

Responsibilities
Develop and continuously refine a corporate development sourcing strategy that aligns with Comfort Connect’s long-term growth plans, product roadmap, and contractor and consumer-centric value propositions
Proactively source a robust pipeline of strategic opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships, platform relationships, and investments that expand Comfort Connect’s market reach and capabilities
Map and maintain a market landscape of priority opportunities across HVAC contractors and adjacent ecosystems (e.g., fintechs, distributors, OEMs, training organizations, software platforms)
Lead end-to-end transaction execution: initial outreach, strategic and financial assessment, valuation, business case development, due diligence, negotiation of key terms, and transaction closing
Coordinate and manage cross-functional diligence teams (Finance, Legal, Product, Operations, Risk, Sales, and Training) to evaluate opportunities and identify risks, synergies, and integration requirements
Build and own financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support decision-making and board-level recommendations
Develop integration plans in collaboration with functional leaders to ensure smooth onboarding of new partners, programs, or acquired entities into Comfort Connect’s operating model and culture
Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to track post-transaction performance, including revenue growth, profitability, strategic fit, and contractor and homeowner experience
Continuously optimize playbooks for sourcing, diligence, closing, and integration to support a repeatable, programmatic corporate development engine
Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CEO and executive team on market trends, competitive dynamics, and 'build–buy–partner' decisions
Prepare clear, concise materials and recommendations for the board of directors and investors, including investment memoranda, presentations, and deal updates
Represent Comfort Connect with professionalism and integrity in discussions with owners, founders, investors, and strategic partners across the home services and fintech ecosystems
Qualification
Required
7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy, or related roles, with a strong focus on sourcing and executing transactions
Demonstrated track record leading end-to-end deal processes, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and closing
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insight into clear theses and actionable opportunities
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with comfort engaging directly with founders, executives, and board members
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, operating both at 'board level' and 'boots on the ground' detail
Unwavering commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and ethical behavior in all business dealings and an unrelenting work ethic
Preferred
Experience in or exposure to home services; HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related contractor-focused industries
Prior experience with M&A or strategic partnerships in a high-growth company
Established network across contractors, distributors, OEMs, industry groups, software partners, or financial sponsors active in the home services sector
