The Lead Technical Designer plays a pivotal role in commercial kitchen design, overseeing the creation of draft layouts, production drawings, and presentation materials while managing client relationships and collaborating with architectural and engineering partners.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical aspects of commercial kitchen design projects, overseeing the development and execution of BIM models
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with high-quality standards
Guide and mentor a team of designers, providing technical expertise and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and to address any challenges
Execute and oversee BIM modeling tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance with project requirements, and efficient utilization of BIM software tools
Conduct final quality control checks on BIM models to maintain design integrity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architectural and engineering partners, to ensure seamless integration of design elements
Lead clash detection efforts using tools such as Navisworks Manage
Contribute to the creation of comprehensive project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and other technical documents
Ensure project files and folders are organized for efficient data management
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 – 4 years' experience in a professional BIM environment/department, or equivalent Military or practical experience
Proficiency in advanced computer skills, including software such as Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM360, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, AutoCAD, AutoQuotes, KCL, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must have expert level BIM experience and advanced in Revit
Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance
Preferred
Preferred previous experience in the foodservice industry
