This position involves supporting the design, development, troubleshooting, and qualification of process automation and control systems within regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of control and automation systems across varying levels of complexity
Define system requirements and develop detailed hardware and software design specifications
Program and modify PLC, SCADA, and HMI applications
Configure thin client/server architectures and process historian databases
Perform control loop tuning, system startup, and commissioning activities
Troubleshoot and enhance existing control systems and applications
Support control system qualification and validation activities
Collaborate directly with clients to define scope, timelines, and deliverables
Work effectively within a matrix organization with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
Travel locally and regionally as needed (approximately 10–25%)
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, including: ControlLogix, PLC-5, SLC 500, RSView, PanelView Plus, RSBizWare, RSBatch
Experience with additional PLC platforms such as GE, Siemens, and Modicon
Proficiency with SCADA/HMI systems including iFIX and Wonderware
Solid understanding of industrial control networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.)
Valid driver's license required
Strong leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Bachelor's degree in chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of directly relevant control systems engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Proven expertise in troubleshooting and process control systems
Willingness to travel to local and occasional out-of-state client sites
Preferred
Experience developing control system electrical design packages preferred
Familiarity with GMP-regulated environments and validation practices
Knowledge of ISA S88 Batch standards and batch system implementation preferred
Background in instrumentation is a plus
Experience in bio-pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing strongly preferred
Prior experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotech system validation preferred
Leadership or technical lead experience is a plus
