Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead and support the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems including qualification to support site operations and infrastructure
Ensure that electrical system changes, upgrades and improvements are in alignment to the E&PS standard design platforms
Partner with site facilities organization to develop and monitor condition, maintenance and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure that feeds the manufacturing facility. This includes feeds from the public utility, through site distribution, substations, emergency/standby power generators
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to optimize electrical systems and improve reliability
Provide technical expertise for electrical/electronic issues across the facility
Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems to ensure safety and compliance with relevant standards
Support investigations related to electrical systems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Develop, review, and update electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, and documentation for projects and system upgrades
Provide training and technical guidance to site personnel on electrical safety, procedures, and standard methodologies
Manage continuous initiative from conception through execution, including vendor coordination and procurement
Foster a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety
Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team
Support the development, testing, and implementation of electronic control modules and embedded systems used in automation processes
Collaborate with automation and control engineers to optimize electronic interfaces, sensors, and actuators for improved system responsiveness and reliability
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required
Minimum 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience within manufacturing, biopharmaceutical, or industrial settings
Proven ability to support site operations, troubleshoot complex electrical systems, and manage electrical projects
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, control panels, and safety protocols
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Deep understanding of safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA) and electrical safety practices
Effective team collaboration and communication skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives
Proactive approach to continuous improvement and preventive maintenance
Analytical skills to monitor KPIs, analyze data, and implement data-driven improvements
Preferred
OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or equivalent certifications are a plus
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus
Experience with automation, control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation is a plus
