Responsibilities
Lead projects from concept development through design, installation, and commissioning
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and predict future needs
Develop strategic plans for equipment and process improvements to meet long-term goals
Design mechanisms, subsystems, and complete machines involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components using SolidWorks
Perform engineering calculations related to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressures, and forces
Produce bills of materials and detailed drawings, ensuring accuracy, proper material selection, and cost efficiency
Manage equipment testing, installation, and start-up activities
Develop manuals & TPM documentation for equipment
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices
Assist in problem-solving and root cause analysis for equipment and process issues
Oversee capital project management and ensure timely delivery within budget
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in engineering roles focused on automated equipment design
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or 5+ years in the design of automated assembly machinery
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD
Proven project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication
Ability to anticipate future operational needs and translate them into design solutions
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Professional approach and demeanor
Willingness to travel (approximately 15%)
Experience managing projects from concept to installation
Expertise in automated equipment design and process improvement
Strategic planning and predictive analysis for future operational requirements
