Civil Engineer/Geologist
The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer/Geologist to serve as a senior subject matter expert within the Levee Safety Center. The role involves advising and directing all phases of levee safety efforts, managing analyses and technical products, and leading a team in addressing complex engineering matters.

Responsibilities
Serves as the senior national technical adviser levee safety matters including the development of guidance on advanced, unprecedented engineering matters to key managers and counterparts at the USACE districts, divisions, higher headquarters, and other Corps and government interests and private interests
Manages, oversees, coordinates, and reviews all analyses, studies, and other technical products prepared by the Center, A-E firms, or other professional contractors in levee safety
Performs administrative team leader responsibilities and assigns, coordinates, and reviews work; provides advice and instruction; and answers questions on controversial or novel problems

Required
Basic Requirement for 0810 series: (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Basic Requirement for 1350 series: (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level that demonstrates advanced technical leadership
Experience as a technical authority within levee safety and levee engineering
Experience in quality assurance oversight, participation in technical review conferences; developing and interpreting policies, regulations, related to levee safety
Experience in managing and overseeing analyses, studies, and other technical products prepared by the Center, Architect-Engineer (A-E) firms, or other professional contractors in levee safety
The incumbent of this position must be a registered professional in accordance with the requirement in ER 690-1-958
All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States
