Track Chair Program Coordinator

The Track Chair Program Coordinator oversees the Track Chair program, ensuring safe and enjoyable access to trails for individuals with mobility challenges through volunteer management and user engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead and conduct track chair outings with users
Recruit and train volunteers to accompany track chair users on outings
Oversee volunteers during scheduled hikes
Work collaboratively with members of the Education department and regularly interface with Visitor Experience & Operations and Advancement teams to integrate accessibility across programs and priority areas
Interact with and be responsive to park visitors, volunteers and program participants to understand and support their accessibility needs
Coordinate and assist with the maintenance of chairs
Correspondence with participants including confirmations, cancellations. and concerns
Integrate use of track chairs into public programs and school programs as requested
Maintain first aid and CPR certification

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
This position is full-time and requires weekend availability (both Saturday and Sunday) as part of the regular work week. Occasional evenings may also be required
Strong oral and written communication skills
Use of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management
Ability to train, support and advise others including staff and volunteers
Experience in a direct service setting working directly with diverse populations that include people with disabilities, caregivers and children
Maintain first aid and CPR certification
Valid driver's license and eligibility to drive work vehicles

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or some college in a related field such as Special Education, Rehabilitation, Disability Justice, Human Services or Assistive Technology
