Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive pre-admission assessments through patient interviews and medical history review
Evaluate lab results, diagnostic tests, and clearances, independently identifying and communicating abnormal findings to providers
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other team members to confirm perioperative readiness
Ensure all required documentation, testing, and clearances are complete prior to the procedure
Provide patient and family education to support understanding of the surgical process and expectations
Qualification
Required
Current Connecticut RN license required
BLS certification required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong ability to assess patient medical history, labs, and tests independently and escalate appropriately
Preferred
BSN preferred
Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience in a perioperative or procedural area preferred
