Responsibilities

Collaborate with outside sales personnel and customers to accurately complete, safe and quality structures

Assures stability, deflection and load carries in a manner that will meet or surpass codes associated with each project

Follow quality control procedures for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance for the implementation of design standards

Confers with client, technical staff, and other Design Services personnel, and prepares design modifications as required

Develop and complete design details from original concept drawings and prepare layouts

Review design(s) for most efficient and profitable use of inventory, equipment, and labor as time permits

Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement

Qualification

Required

Currently located in Utah

Knowledgeable in Utah building codes and design requirements

Hands-on experience designing residential and/or commercial truss packages

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement

Preferred

Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and Mitek
