$40K/yr - $40K/yrMeeks Impact Law is a growing personal injury law firm seeking a Personal Injury Paralegal to support one attorney in a pod-based team structure. This role involves managing a mix of pre-litigation and litigation tasks while handling an active caseload of approximately 40–80 cases.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Manage assigned personal injury cases from intake through settlement or litigation referral
Conduct initial case setup, collection of documents, and maintaining file organization
Draft and send letters of representation, HIPAA authorizations, and other routine correspondence and tasks such as open record requests
Request, track, and review medical records, bills, wage loss documentation, and lien information
Regularly communicate with clients via phone and text regarding treatment, case status, and next steps
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes in the firm’s case management system
Assist attorney with case evaluations and demand preparation
Draft demand packages and settlement communications
Negotiate medical liens and assist with settlement disbursements
Manage attorney calendar of appointments and important deadlines
Utilize AI and technology
Assist with case transition from pre-litigation to litigation including routine file organization
Draft and e-file pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and routine motions
Draft and send letters of representation, HIPAA authorizations, and other routine correspondence and tasks such as open record requests in order to obtain evidence
Coordinate service of process and manage litigation deadlines with the court and opposing counsel
Manage attorney calendar of appointments and important deadlines
Review and summarize medical records, discovery responses, and deposition transcripts
Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and witness files when appropriate
Coordinate with court staff, opposing counsel, experts, etc. regarding deposition scheduling
Assist attorney with mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
Work closely with one assigned attorney as part of a pod-based team
Act as the primary paralegal point of contact for assigned cases
Proactively manage deadlines, follow-ups, and case progression
Communicate workload needs, case issues, and priorities to attorney and operations leadership
Qualification
Required
Paralegal experience
Basic understanding of personal injury pre-litigation and basic litigation procedures
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with case or project management software, Microsoft Office, AI
Attention to detail and accuracy
Client-focused and empathetic communication style
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Comfortability working at a paperless and tech-forward law firm
Strong follow-through and accountability
Professional demeanor with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Preferred
Paralegal certificate and or associate's or bachelor's degree
Paralegal experience in the personal injury field
Experience working in a pod-based structure
Litigation experience through discovery and trial preparation
Familiarity with lien resolution and settlement disbursements
