Senior Manager, Digital Asset Business - Risk Consulting
KPMG is a global firm dedicated to providing outstanding client services and is seeking a Senior Manager for their Digital Asset Business in Risk Consulting. The role focuses on leading practice development, client delivery, and business development within the dynamic digital asset sector, requiring expertise in blockchain and crypto technologies.
Responsibilities
Practice development - leading the implementation of KIG’s strategy for DAB services, including: (i) driving the definition and leadership of the DAB sector go-to-market strategy in collaboration with other service lines and leading the responses to digital assets opportunities; (ii) working with KIG colleagues and in collaboration with wider global KPMG DAB sector specialists to drive growth in DAB sector services; (iii) collaborating with KPMG's Global Blockchain Community to share leading practices and experiences; and (iv) collaborating with DAB sector specialists and wider Advisory, Tax, and Audit service line specialists, to provide holistic support to our clients
Client delivery – (i) advising clients on technology, operational, financial and regulatory aspects of digital assets programs including strategy, governance, risk and regulatory compliance frameworks, controls, processes, and operating models; (ii) managing cross-functional global engagement teams, both internally within KPMG, and external client teams, across all areas of the organization; (ii) communicating a solid understanding of trends and innovations in the digital assets and wider FS industry; (iv) creating and delivering high-quality client deliverables to senior client stakeholders; and (v) translating complex business challenges into solutions, covering in-depth functional expertise, technology (applications and platforms), operating model design, regulatory compliance and risk management
Business development - (i) developing thought leadership in the area of educating clients and demonstrating KPMG's expertise in the space; (ii) keeping up to date with the crypto space, as well as local and national business and regulatory issues in relation to the DAB sector within the KIG islands; (iii) developing internal relationships, building your KPMG brand, and championing the DAB sector; (iv) thinking beyond your own capability area and being proactive in collaborating with other service lines to offer our clients the best possible solution; (v) leading the pursuit of business development opportunities that exist within digital assets; and (vi) building long-term relationships with our clients and bringing them the best of KPMG
People Management – (i) being a leader and role model to the wider team by showcasing our values and principles, leading from the front and by example; (ii) working effectively and in collaboration with KIG colleagues to optimize resource usage; (iii) leading and coaching staff within the Risk Consulting practice to enable the growth of the junior management team within our practice; and (iv) contributing to people-related initiatives such as recruiting, training, and retaining staff
Qualification
Required
In-depth expertise in crypto, DeFi, and excitement about Web 3.0 and a strong understanding of the technology, operational and regulatory risks of the DAB sector, including relevant qualification(s) - for example Certified Cryptoasset AFC specialist certification, Certified Bitcoin professional – blockchain Council or Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator
Demonstrated consulting experience in executing client engagements in the digital assets sector
Ability to lead multiple workstreams and engagements simultaneously
A Bachelor's degree or above
Excellent project management and organizational skills, experience in leading and working with Board and executive team members on complex client engagements
A proven ability to lead business development activity, including strong experience in writing thought leadership articles and proposals and building and maintaining relationships with a range of clients
Exceptional people skills with the ability to work well with staff of all levels; this includes the ability to lead business development and service delivery teams, coach and develop team members and to provide business and technical mentorship to members of the Advisory team
Strong presentation skills to assimilate complex data and issues and convey these to executive management at clients and internally, in clear and impactful reports and presentations
First class written and oral communication skills; this includes the ability to produce and review complex financial reports and proposals
Be a strong team player, evidenced by a proven ability to work effectively with senior management, ideally on complex cross border engagements with multi-jurisdictional teams
A willingness and capacity to work overtime at short notice is essential as this is a highly demanding environment with very tight report deadlines
Excellent technical knowledge on internal audit methodology and prudential regulatory compliance pertaining to governance and enterprise risk management
Understanding regulatory requirements (eg in relation to financial crime) and applying this to client advisory and assurance services
Working in a dynamic and agile way in multi-disciplinary teams to manage and lead large engagements in internal audit, SOX/ ICFR and risk consulting services
Excellent technical knowledge on the (re)insurance, and wider financial service sectors
Strong track record of working in a Big 4 public practice environment
Project management for transformation projects
Demonstrable leadership of client relationships and projects and leading strategic business development and service growth in a public practice/ consultancy firm environment
Preferred
A professional qualification in a relevant discipline would be beneficial (e.g. CPA, CA, CIA)
Additional experience in a leadership role (in internal audit) in industry is also preferred
