Mechanical Engineer I (Onsite)

They are seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer I responsible for developing new energetic products and supporting existing product lines through all phases of the product life cycle.

Responsibilities
Review Request for Quotes from customers to evaluate feasibility, prepare labor estimates for updating engineering technical data packages, identify significant risks and provide mitigation recommendations
Lead brainstorming efforts for part design and/or new specification conditions and modify the design and/or procedures as required to provide reliable cost-effective solutions
Design and model to system/customer requirements
Work with the Systems and Analysis groups to ensure requirements are met and design has predictable performance
Maintain and create new engineering technical baseline on drawing and engineering specifications
Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and participate in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis
Key stakeholder for the design definition for the Material Review Board
Participate in product safety analysis, mature and implement Safety Characteristics
Provide technical input for creation and maintenance of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Communicate with customers to provide technical information, engineering recommendations, action plans and risk assessments
Work with Program Management to ensure all project milestones are achieved within identified and documented time, budget, and performance expectations for multiple projects
Monitor and report the status of all projects to management and customers
Support continuous improvement activities to improve development project execution
Create and implement IP for the Propulsion business
Perform other duties as needed
Domestic and international travel up to 10%
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
Experience with modeling (NX preferred) and analysis of complex engineering problems
Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
Preferred
Experience/Interest with energetic engineering is desired
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new analysis/modeling software
Mechanical Engineering background to support component and detail design work
Exposure to Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis
Must be proficient at prioritizing and managing workload, as well as have a strong decision making and administrative abilities
