Laboratory Technologist
Slopes Bio, Inc. enables biotech innovation and powers testing programs for enterprise clients. The Laboratory Technologist will perform advanced molecular biology and genetics techniques in a clinical molecular diagnostic laboratory, focusing on DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, and genotyping of human samples.

Responsibilities
Receives specimens and completes all necessary test documentation into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Performs high complexity molecular tests offered on the clinical test menu by following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the laboratory
Performs quality control and calibrations, as required
Performs post-test analyses and data review to ensure accurate test result reporting
Recognizes problems and performs assay troubleshooting
Understands and follows the proficiency testing policies to comply with CAP standards
Regularly participates in CAP proficiency testing or other competence assessments in the laboratory and participate in periodic regulatory inspections
Participates in the development, validation and maintenance of high complexity clinical tests
Train laboratory personnel as requested by laboratory management
Coordinate, monitor or perform additional tasks at the request of management such as assisting Quality Assurance Supervisor
Lead day-to-day tasks at the request of laboratory management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in biological, chemical or medical laboratory sciences
Proficient in MS office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
Ability to adapt to change efficiently
Knowledge of and skills in good molecular genetic laboratory practices including extraction of nucleic acids from human blood and tissues, standard and real-time PCR, and next-generation library prep and sequencing
Preferred
Previous laboratory experience, clinical laboratory preferred
Next generation sequencing experience using an Illumina NextSeq 2000 or NovaSeq X instrument
Next generation sequencing experience using Oxford Nanopore Technologies long read protocols
Next generation sequencing library construction experience
Certification in laboratory specialty through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent is a plus
Experience with quality control and assurance processes in clinical laboratories. Working knowledge of development of genotyping, mutation detection and sequencing assays
