First Nations Strategy & Partnership lead

The First Nations Strategy & Partnership Lead will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives that strengthen First Nations partnerships and cultural integrity within the organization.

Responsibilities
Lead First Nations Ear Health and associated peak (e.g. NACCHO) stakeholder engagement nationally, advise on local/state engagement strategies to maintain cultural integrity
Lead the development of the Hearing Australia RAP process with support from the First Nations Executive Sponsor and be accountable for driving outcomes
As necessary, represent Hearing Australia in external forums, speaking at public events related to the First Nations national and organisational agenda. Build mutually beneficial relationships
Act as the cultural authority and advisor for organisational projects and decision-making
Support the delivery of professional training and development in collaboration with L&D team for First Nations staff and staff more broadly including designing onboarding and mentoring programs for First Nations staff
Advise and develop policies, protocols, and frameworks that prioritise cultural integrity and accountability
Monitor cultural aspects in service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction, report on insights and trends
Provide strategic advice to the Managing Director and Head of Community Services on First Nations strategy and government relations
Mentor FN Partnership Specialists to support their engagement and effectiveness in their role
Qualification
Required
Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement for this position
Strong understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hearing Health sector
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement at national, state, and local levels
Good knowledge of RAP frameworks and First Nations policy development
Strong communication skills and experience in the development of policy and strategy, preferably in Aboriginal affairs
Strategic thinking and experience with co-design approaches
Exceptional communication and influencing skills
Willingness to have a Police Check conducted
Current driver's licence
Must have rights to work in Australia
