Director/ExecutiveAjax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Director of Business Development who will be a strategic leader responsible for driving growth across various sectors. This role involves developing business strategies, nurturing client relationships, and promoting the company's values of safety and quality.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute business development strategies and budgets that support Ajax’s growth in priority and emerging sectors
Formulate departmental objectives aligned with Ajax’s overall business development goals and values
Lead and mentor staff in the design, development, and production of client-facing materials, proposals, and presentations
Build and nurture relationships with prospective and current clients, providing planning advice and guidance that reflects Ajax’s commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration
Support the finalization of business deals, working closely with management and estimating teams
Promote Ajax’s reputation for schedule fidelity, GMP accuracy, safety, and operational readiness
Research, identify, and pursue business opportunities in Ajax’s geographic footprint (17 offices across the Southeast U.S.)
Supervise business development representatives and consultants in their pursuit of new opportunities
Develop objectives and strategies that support Ajax’s broader business development goals, including growth in Healthcare, Mission Critical, TI, and Corporate Office/Mixed Use
Conduct and manage research and outreach to identify and prioritize potential customers
Prepare and implement action plans for targeted prospects, ensuring alignment with Ajax’s values and delivery discipline
Oversee the creation of proposals, presentations, brochures, newsletters, and magazines
Train new personnel within the department, fostering a culture of safety, respect, and teamwork
Address client needs prior to contract execution, providing advice, liaison services, and planning support
Assist management and estimating teams with the sales process and deal finalization
Carry out additional assignments as requested by the Executive staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in business or a related construction field
Proven experience in construction, business development, or marketing
Outstanding computer and communication skills
Deep knowledge of the construction industry
Ability to perform under pressure and lead with integrity
Preferred
Master's Degree in Business Administration or Construction
Experience with a construction company or in construction design
