Law Practice
Responsibilities
Independently manage a full family law caseload from intake through resolution
Serve as lead attorney in:
Trials
Hearings
Mediations
Depositions
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
Work collaboratively with paralegals and administrative staff
Maintain accurate timekeeping and billing records
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of family law experience
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing in both Missouri and Kansas
Courtroom experience as lead or second-chair counsel
Ability to manage own caseload with minimal supervision
Strong litigation, negotiation, and client-management skills
Preferred
Extensive experience practicing in Johnson County, Kansas
This experience qualifies for additional compensation beyond base salary and bonuses
