Lead Project/Software Engineer
Marathon TS is looking for a highly skilled Lead Technical Systems Engineer to join our Unified Engagement Environment (UEE) team. This role will lead the planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system being deployed alongside other enterprise mission systems.

Responsibilities
Lead system engineering efforts for a mission-critical software system within the UEE enterprise environment
Partner closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders to perform:
Workflow and business process engineering
Functional requirements elicitation
Technical requirements definition and refinement
Serve as a technical liaison between customers and the development team, managing expectations and translating mission needs into actionable technical solutions
Collaborate with the Task Lead, Scrum Master, System Engineers, and Developers to:
Facilitate story and sprint planning
Support sprint execution
Participate in functional testing
Lead or contribute to sprint reviews and demos
Ensure system designs align with enterprise architecture, integration standards, and operational requirements
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience serving in a Lead Systems Engineer role on a software development team
Experience with software development environments and architectures, including: Unix/Linux
Java and Java Spring frameworks
RESTful microservices (Spring Boot)
Cloud-based architectures and deployments, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Demonstrated experience eliciting, documenting, and validating functional and technical requirements
Strong background working directly with customers and stakeholders in a mission or enterprise environment
Ability to understand, synthesize, and articulate complex technical details across diverse audiences
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
Experience using collaboration and Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
