Responsibilities

Drive vehicles at customer demo events
Demonstrate – via driving and presentation – Bendix products to current and potential customers
Support in creating business opportunities with the customers through demonstrated strong technical product expertise
Build customer relationships by being regarded as credible driver and technical “expert” presence
Provide technical input and feedback to product engineering on performance of systems demonstrated as needed
Ensure current work instructions remain updated and create new work instructions when needed
Participate in the set-up and tear down in all demo events. Ensure the necessary equipment is in presentation order and that resources are aligned to the demo requirements
Follow all safety policies and requirements to ensure that no accidents or unsafe events occur
Participate in driver training, safety training, product reviews to ensure understanding of product and information to support demo efforts
Provide support in developing demo maneuvers and test maneuvers needed to demonstrate product performance in real world environments
Support marketing efforts as required by driving trucks for video development
Support engineering as required by supporting test driving of new technologies to help in product development efforts
Keep up to date on technology advancements in related field of expertise
Maintain active AED, First-Aid, CPR and BBP training and certifications

Required

Valid Class A CDL License is required for all levels with Tanker, Doubles/Triples & Passenger Endorsements - except for demo driver technician 3, where a Class B is acceptable
Depending on level, a Minimum 5 years' experience of driving in the commercial vehicle trucking industry with a valid class A / B CDL (class 7 / 8)
Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic and mechanical commercial vehicle systems
Experience presenting and working with external customers
Demonstrated experience with complex product installations preferable braking systems
Vehicle dynamics understanding
Class A or B CDL required (able to drive or learn to driver tractor / trailer and trucks for customers for demonstrations and training)
Demonstrate the ability to perform and develop complex driving maneuvers for a commercial vehicle's handling and showcase Bendix vehicle technologies
Ability to follow a test plan and document results as instructed
Strong safety understanding and outlook
Customer first attitude, driven to build and prioritize customer relationships throughout the customer's organization and within Bendix
Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to develop creative solutions that address customer needs
Self-starter and strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
Able to work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks comfortably
Must be able to partner with others to develop actionable and strategic plans
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required
Strong professional presence, capable of influencing through interactions and follow-up
Must be capable of building and utilizing a strong network, team player and wiliness to work in a matrixed organization
Ability to learn a lot quickly in a short amount of time
Must maintain an organized work area that allows for quick and efficient responses to the customer needs
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint a must
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
Technician 3: associate degree in engineering technology or business marketing and a Class A or B CDL with 5 years commercial vehicle driving experience is required. In lieu of degree the organization willing accept a high school level diploma with 8 years of commercial truck driving experience along with a clean driving record, Class A or B CDL
Technician 4: associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or business marketing and a Class A and B CDL (class 7 and 8) along with 8 years commercial driving experience is required. In lieu of a degree the organization is willing to accept a high school level diploma with 10 years of commercial truck driving experience along with a clean driving record, Class A CDL (class 7 and 8)
Technician 5: associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or business marketing and a Class A and B CDL (class 7 and 8) along with 10 years commercial driving experience is required. In lieu of a degree the organization is willing to accept a high school level diploma with 12 years of commercial truck driving experience along with a clean driving record, Class A CDL (class 7 and 8)
Individual must be willing to travel 40-50%+ throughout the year to various demo sites, test facilities, and tracks within the US

Preferred

Knowledge of Bendix and competitor products (ability to learn technical products to fill in gaps)
Knowledge of heavy truck industry, OEMs, suppliers, distribution channels and trade associations
Knowledge of Bendix's customer base, their business and how they operate a plus
Familiar with driving regulations, requirements, and SAE requirements
Knowledge base of most tasks performed in the lab environment and requires limited guidance from engineering resources
Experience with diagnostic software, remote diagnostics a plus
Recommendation - Capable of building and delivering professional presentations
