Capital Projects Manager - Purchasing Office
Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Capital Projects Manager for their Purchasing Office. The role involves managing and supervising staff in the planning, contracting, and procurement of technology hardware/software and capital project management services for the district.

Responsibilities
Manage and supervise staff in the planning, contracting, and procuring of technology hardware/software and capital project management services for the district as related to the equipping of new schools, additional classrooms, and administrative facilities
Oversee capital project management for the deployment of technology throughout the school district
Initiate the development of project charters
Plan scope, schedules, work teams, and attainment of project and budget approvals
Ensure that project phases are defined and executed as outlined in project schedules
Monitor and control projects so that potential issues may be addressed in a timely manner that does not adversely affect project budget and scope
Confirm that project activities are finalized and perform post project analysis to improve future project success
Manage procurement process for capital projects and all technology across the school district
Compile requirements and maintain documentation relating to technology and software for the district as it pertains to school retrofits, new schools, growth requests, and central office staff
Ensure Board policies related to purchasing technology equipment, supplies, and services are achieved
Manage staff of procurement and compliance
Review and approve requests from local schools and administrative staff for technology equipment
Order new, replacement, or replacement upgrades for smart phone devices as needed
Manage smart phone inventory and accounts for school principals and central office staff
Ensure BRM processes are followed so that orders flow in a systematic and efficient manner
Work with the Purchasing and Property Management Office to ensure the PeopleSoft technology catalog is up-to-date
Coordinate school technology procurement with schools, offices, and departments for cataloged items
Effectively communicate across the organization with regard to orders and district purchasing policies regarding technology
Manage policy regarding software compliance to ensure staff consistently updates district licensing
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Five years of experience in project management or a related field required
Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage functions related to technology capital project management
Ability to be customer service oriented to internal and external customers and effectively communicate with school system employees, team leads and contractors
Ability to use an automated computer system designed to track technology equipment acquisitions and project schedules
Ability to make mathematical calculations and complete computer data entry with speed and accuracy
Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Microsoft Project applications
Preferred
Project Management Certification preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
